Production Scheduler

Job Responsibilities

The Production Scheduler is an integral member of the entire Weatherchem team, interfacing with sales, operations, customer service, maintenance, engineering, finance, toolroom, and QA to ensure that customer orders are properly received, processed and delivered. While scheduling is the primary responsibility, this role also focuses on inventory control and purchasing of raw materials. This, as all positions at Weatherchem, is performed within a continuous improvement environment and with a team mindset. The successful candidate will:

• Establish and manage accurate production schedules and related operations within a fully integrated ERP system, in a fast paced, make to order, 24/7 environment.
• Balance meeting customers’ expectations with operational efficiencies.
• Manage customer demands through their ERP systems.
• Understand and provide capacity planning and analysis.
• Actively engage in meeting customer requirements, solving problems, and setting priorities.
• Establish and maintain appropriate inventory levels, using best practices, while being mindful of financial implications of inventory control.
• Recommend and utilize continuous improvement and standardization processes and systems, such as KANBAN, EOQ, and ABC inventory analysis for optimal plant efficiencies.
• Provide appropriate and consistent reporting to all levels of organization.
• Procure, including negotiate, raw materials at optimal pricing and delivery cycles, while maintaining the lowest possible inventory levels.

Education
Baccalaureate degree in materials management or related field or APICS Certification preferred

Previous Experience
• Minimum 5 - 7 years experience in production scheduling and inventory control.
• Must have experience working with ERP system, IQMS preferred..
• Experienced in purchasing materials, supplies and equipment.
• Experience with managing secondary processes/outsourcing.
• History of developing and maintaining strategic supplier relationships.
• Experience in an injection molding environment is preferred.
